Volunteer for Restore.
Healing is sacred – and you’ve got a front-row seat.

No one should carry the past alone. Restore volunteers are women and men who understand healing as a holy work – one that requires not merely our patience, but our presence.
If you’ve walked the path of loss and restoration in your own life, you’re uniquely qualified to help others. They need you. We need you.
Here’s how you can help.
One mission. Different gifts.
-
Outreach volunteers build new relationships with communities where people desire wholeness, both in person and online.
-
Education volunteers share their personal stories of restoration with community groups and help our neighbors learn to care for those with post-aboriton stress. Help in person and online.
-
Intake volunteers talk with new clients online or over the phone. Listen, then match them with the right kind of support.
-
Support Series guides meet weekly with groups or individuals in our programs. Follow the stucture we provide – and watch as healing happens.

Who can volunteer?
Restore volunteers are:
Women and men. Abortion pain is not gender exclusive. We need guides and storytellers who can speak to every perspective.
Christians. We serve people of all faiths and none at all – but our personal motivation is the love of Jesus Christ. If you call him Savior and want to help both your Christian and non-Christian neighbors move toward freedom, you fit in here.
Acquainted with grief. If you’ve journeyed through your own abortion pain or other major life loss, you’re qualified to help others. Restore’s own alumni make excellent guides!
Non-judgmental. We bring ourselves and our stories to this work — but we don’t expect that others’ stories will always match our own. To serve at Restore means to welcome every person with dignity and without assumption.
U.S.A. based. We’re located in the Chicago area, but we serve clients and take volunteers from anywhere in the country. If you’ve got an Internet connection, you can help.
How can you help?
Wondering how your gifts and story can help hurting people? Schedule a call with our volunteer coordinator.
If you’re a fit and have two hours to give each week, we’ll train you for the role that suits you best.

“A woman comes through the doors broken — and leaves knowing the power of forgiveness.”

25 years of healing
Restore After Abortion is a Chicago-area nonprofit that helps men and women from across the U.S. walk through the emotions that surround abortion – and find freedom on the other side.
This work has been our passion since 1999, when a small group of Christian women’s clinics noticed the need for post-abortive care that would address not only physical healing but the emotional, psychological and spiritual wounds caused by abortion.
For many women and men, abortion had brought unexpected consequences: Ongoing shame, anxiety or depression, difficulty bonding with children, and a sense of isolation that didn’t fade with time. Many felt like their stories were over.
Restore began with a Bible study, then added a non-denominational curriculum for clients who belong to other faiths or to no faith at all.
Our volunteers are Christian, but we’re not here to change minds. We’re here offer the kind of nonjudgmental, unconditional care that helps make healing possible and sets hearts free.
Every Restore leader is specifically trained in post-abortion stress recovery. If you find yourself drawn to our work, leave your email below to learn how you can help. We’d love to hear from you.
