I felt nothing towards my new baby. No connection.

I knew I was forgiven, but I didn’t know I was free.

Restore helps those unraveled by abortion return to themselves.

A season of healing.

A Support Series is 10 to 14 weeks of sharing, study and reflection. This isn’t a quick fix; it’s your path to lasting transformation.

A personal path.

Join a support group or meet 1-on-1 with your guide. Customized for people of all genders and any faith tradition — or none at all.

A proven process.

Support materials are specific to the post-abortion experience. Heal with people who’ve felt what you feel — whether your abortion was last week or decades ago.

Your way back starts with a single step.

1. Talk to someone.

Send a text or set up a call to see if Restore is right for you.

This step takes courage.
And you’re worth it.

2. Join a Support Series.

We’ll match you with the group or individual guide who’s right for you. Each week you’ll read and reflect, then meet online with others who’ve been where you are.

3. Move into freedom.

Carrying grief, releasing shame, receiving grace — this work takes time.

But freedom waits. And we can’t wait to see you live it.

“I needed a program geared toward abortion and not just therapy. Restore had a structure, a plan and group opportunities.”

25 years of healing

Restore After Abortion is a Chicago-area nonprofit that helps people from across the U.S. walk through the emotions that surround abortion – and find freedom on the other side.

This work has been our passion since 1999, when a small group of Christian women’s clinics noticed the need for post-abortive care that would address not only physical healing but the emotional, psychological and spiritual turmoil that abortion sometimes raises. We began with a bible study, then added different curricula for our many clients who are of other faiths or no faith at all. Our objective is not to convert anyone; it’s to care for everyone.

Restore is not a licensed counseling or medical practice; we’re a community of support offering guidance on the path to healing. Every Restore volunteer and staff member is trained in the unique needs of post-abortion stress recovery. Most of us have walked that path ourselves.

We meet with clients both in person and remotely. Services are private, confidential and always completely free.

Help others find their freedom.
